Fob- Paris: Timeless
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! May your day be filled with love and happiness, with the comfort of friends, family, your Valentine or by just having quality me time :) Obviously, chocolates and breakfast in bed are a necessity, and there is absolutely nothing wrong to treat yourself to some roses, a manicure (perhaps), a glass of Moët (definitely) or maybe even some jewelry!
However, looking at the “Top Gifts for Her” for Valentine’s day, I couldn’t help but notice how watches seemed to have replaced pearls for the pole position! Maybe it sends a message like Our love is timeless, or As time goes by… ? But, whatever the case, whenever the occasion, watches are an essential (and no, checking the time on our iPhones don't count!)
So we look at the latest Rolexes, the Omegas, the highly anticipated iWatches (…) but don’t we want to have something truly unique- something as interesting and dynamic as our cool bombastic selves? Well then, may i suggest having a look at FOB Paris?
I discovered them while I was in Berlin (again at the Premium trade show) and was so taken by how beautiful and original their modern pocket watches were- Fob Paris has reminded our modern world the need for an elegant pocket watch.
The fascination behind the fob was that it is a reference to history and it's technically and aesthetically inspiration for futuristic design. Each fob, is a work of art, hand crafted in Paris, and it draws upon Art-Deco influences, which constructs an identity of reinventing something old into something fresh and modern.
The fobs are not only watches, but fashion accessories which make a statement that is edgy, yet elegant and can be morphed into different levels of sophistication depending on what occasion. For example, you can attach your Fob onto a chain and wear it as a necklace, fix it to your purse (perhaps, next to your Karlito Keychain?) for more casual occasions or fit it into a breast-pocket or attach it to stunning, custom sculptured wrist cuffs of leather, gold, or rose gold for formal events.
