Dr. Nina Van Volkinburg is a Higher Education Senior Lecturer and ethnographer, exploring how technology shapes value creation within fashion and wider creative industries. She is also the host of the Fashion Means Business podcast, featuring leading figures from across the global fashion industry and academia. In addition to her academic practice, her analysis has been featured in Vogue, Elle, ABC News, BBC World News, and other global media outlets. Previously, she founded and ran the sustainably focused start-up, RETURE, the world’s first fashion upcycling digital platform. 

A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Certified Management & Business Educator, Nina currently leads the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing programme at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, where she mentors the next generation of creative strategists.

Nina is also a passionate artist and storyteller, and the founder of Ida and Ink, a London-based arts and crafts studio.
