Dr. Nina Van Volkinburg holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and is an ethnographer by training. Her research interests revolve around how emerging technologies, specifically Extended Reality (XR), impact value co-creation and storytelling, and shape service ecosystems within the fashion sector. She is also passionate about applying technology to help provide access and democratise enterprise-related teaching and learning practices.
I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and am currently completing my Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication. sits on the advisory board of World Collective. Previously she founded and led RETURE (2020-2022), credited as the world's first fashion upcycling technology platform. Her career integrates academic insight with practical industry experience, fostering innovation and sustainability in fashion marketing.
